Noticed something different about ScienceDirect?

If you’ve visited ScienceDirect recently you may have noticed a new logo in the top left corner. Elsevier, the people behind ScienceDirect, have created a new portal called SciVerse

SciVerse allows you to search across a number of Elsevier products: ScienceDirect, Scirus and Scopus, though Scopus content is only available to subscribers.

The SciVerse portal (branded as ”Hub”) offers some interesting features such as the option to search specifically for materials and methods within Elsevier full text articles; a visual breakdown of the ‘most prolific authors’ and quick links to ‘matching sentences’ and paragraphs. The point of the latter is to show search results in their context, making it easier to see which results are most relevant.

Why not give it a go? To find out more about the features described here, take a look at their video.
