It’s a typically strong selection comprising of a seasoned mixture of established and neophyte authors, including three debut novelists, NoViolet Bulawayo, Eve Harris and Donal Ryan, as well as previous Booker nominees Jim Crace and Colm Tóibín.
Last year the £50,000 prize was won by Hilary Mantel for her popular historical novel Bringing Up the Bodies, the second in a trilogy charting the fictional rise and fall of the Tudor schemer Thomas Cromwell.
The eventual winner will be announced later in the year. For the complete list, visit the Man Booker Prize site here.
Although we don’t have any of the present nominees in our collection as yet, we do have a broad selection of previous Booker Prize winners among our Leisure Reading collection, including last year’s winner and its predecessor, Wolf Hall.
