The second Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) competition will take place at the Novotel East Midlands Hotel in Long Eaton from 23 – 26 May.
The competition is organised by Loughborough University in conjunction with the University of Nottingham and the Rotary Club of Loughborough Beacon. It is designed to encourage enterprise among postgraduate research students and postdoctoral research staff.
Engineering YES, which is free to enter and has a top prize of £2,000, has been developed to raise awareness of the commercialisation of engineering ideas and involves an intensive three days of preparation and presentations.
The 2010 competition will involve teams from Loughborough, Nottingham and De Montfort, guided by representatives from the world of industry who will help them formulate a business plan.
