The coffee morning kicked off with plenty of glorious sunshine and tasty refreshments with the opportunity to meet up with former students and staff in the library. The event was held on Wednesday 28th September 2011, and was a huge success with over 40 guests attending and a further 20 signing up for Alumni borrowing cards.
The presentations were introduced by Academic Librarian, Charlotte Greasley, who welcomed the guests and was followed by Ruth Jenkins, the University Librarian, who talked about the library today and in the future. Afterwards, Jenny Clark, the University Archivist, presented a captivating demonstration of the Library throughout the years, which included several funny anecdotes. To round things off Charlotte gave a talk about the changing role of technology in the library and demonstrations and tours were provided.
The coffee morning is the latest in a series of events which the library has hosted during the past year to help celebrate the library building’s 30th full year in operation. The event was organised in conjunction with the Development and Alumni Office. Further information about the 30th Celebrations can be found here.
