Where i work with Kai and Jordan
This series of blog posts takes an insider look at the workspaces of Loughborough Design School’s final year students. Inspired by Design Milk [www.design-milk.com/column/where-i-work] it offers a unique insight into the personalities and lives of our designers.
Name: Kai Saunders
Course: Industrial Design and Technology (BA)
Final Year Project Title: From Grain to Glass.
“At some point it’s so much easier to go into Photoshop to get a better idea of materials and finishes. It’s trying to understand how materials work together I guess. I could sketch that shape, but I don’t know what it’s gonna look like until I CMF the hell out of it.”
“These woolly socks I got for Christmas – they were made by some old lady in Scotland. There’s something to be said for warm feet.”
Name: Jordan Bullen
Course: Industrial Design and Technology (BA)
Final Year Project Title: ‘Ink from the Earth’ Sustainable writing solution.
“Rather than writing a list I just write on post-it notes and throw them away. When you take them down it’s satisfying.”
“I prefer to be on my own. I get distracted when I’m talking to people and looking at other people’s work.”
