Due to numerous reports of IE9 crashing following a recent Microsoft update, we have decided to make IE11 (and with it Java 7 Update 55) available to academic school Windows 7 Service staff PCs ahead of schedule.

 The update is postponable until the end of this month and was originally due to be sent to the Schools this coming Monday (19/01/15).

If any of your users are reporting that Internet Explorer is crashing repeatedly, please encourage them to accept the update when prompted or run it from Run Advertised Programs.

As this update includes the Java upgrade, be advised that Service Now Knowledge Base article KB0011193 contains instructions for resolving issues that some users with non-standard Java installations may experience following the upgrade.
