Task Sequence Media error – “Unable to read task sequence configuration disk”

Hi all

We have had a few reports of the Jan 2016 Task Sequence Media failing with the message – “Unable to read task sequence configuration disk”. Unfortunately the USB 3.0 drivers required for the new SkyLake Toshiba laptops are incompatible with some older models. So far only models found to have this issue are :-

  • HP Elitebook Folio 9470m
  • HP Elitebook 2170p

However, there may be others.

A workround for this problem is to use the previous May 2016 TS Media on these models. However, since the Portege Z30-C is currently the only supported model which actually requires the Jan 2016 TS Media, it will be more efficient to use the May 2016 TS Media on all machines except the Z30-C.

Both TS Media can be found in “\\ws2.lboro.ac.uk\DesktopResource\Windows\W7\common\TaskSequenceMedia” updated to v2 to reflect the recent certificate changes.
