SCCM Upgrade
The SCCM work has now been completed and tested. You can now reimage and receive new software deployments.
There is still an outstanding issue with check for updates which we are investigating.
The PC Staff Base Task Sequence has been updated in the following ways:
The base image no longer contains any Office 2010 products, as recommended by Microsoft.
- The main Office 2010 Suite will be installed via the Task Sequence.
- Office Language Packs (Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified and Japanese) will not be installed.
- The language bar with alternative keyboards mappings has been removed.
- Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Refworks Write-n-Cite, MindManager and TextHelp Read and Write have become optional applications
In addition, you will have to re-create your Task Sequence media to enable imaging.
SCCM 2007 – update

The system is expected back around 3pm today
SCCM 2007
SCCM 2007 is now down to facilitate the SQL upgrade work.
Further updates will be provided as the work progresses
SCCM downtime
SCCM downtime
From Monday 21st March SCCM will be unavailable for 3 days, this is to enable a SQL upgrade to take place. The reason for the upgrade is because the current SQL version is SQL 2005 which is end of support in April.
A new server has already been prepared and SQL has been installed, the downtime is to allow for the SCCM move.
Further comms will be sent out next week as a reminder and the EUC blog will be used to provide updates during the change.
