Happy Mondays: Inkscape – Sketch to vector workshop

Learn how to turn hand-drawn sketches into quality digital graphics using free software!
Inkscape is a free, open-source piece of software which enables you to transform hand-drawn images into high quality logos or artwork for web and print. This supportive, friendly workshop led by artist Ryan Heath will introduce the software and get you creating your own work.

Book Club: Superior: The Return of Race Science by Angela Saini

Join our regular Book Club for an online discussion of Superior: The Return of Race Science by Angela Saini.
Where did the idea of race come from, and what does it mean? In an age of identity politics, DNA ancestry testing and the rise of the far-right, a belief in biological differences between populations is experiencing a resurgence. The truth is: race is a social construct. Our problem is we find this hard to believe.

Panel Discussion: Mental Health in Sport

Loughborough HeadsUp will be hosting a panel event titled ‘Mental Health in Sport’. They will be discussing the highs and lows of sport. Issues regarding sacrifice, motivation, and balancing these pressures with everyday life. Plus, there will be perspectives from a sports psychologist and Sporting Minds UK!

Eccleston Sculpture Commission: Find a team

We’ve launched a competition for students to design a new sculptural work for Claudia Parsons Hall on our Loughborough campus. To enter this competition, students need to form collaborative teams made up of 2-6 students from a minimum of two different subject areas. As Claudia Parsons was the first hall to be named after a woman, we would like each team to include at least one female student.

Join us back at The Start-Up Lab for our final session! We will be live streaming with our fantastic Student Enterprise Coordinator, Hayley Jones, all the way from Future Space at Lboro London!
Our last workshop will cover the types of funding that new business owners can consider tapping into when looking to kickstart their business. The focus of this workshop is on start-ups looking to explore the options available to them when raising money for their business and getting their ideas off the ground. It will also give a very brief insight into the world of investment and how to become investor-ready!
