LU Arts is offering nine arts scholarships that are open to students across our Loughborough & London campuses.<\/p>\n

Who can apply?<\/h3>\n

Scholarships will be awarded to students who have a passion and commitment to a particular art form and who would benefit from a package of support that would enable them to develop their skill and knowledge in their field of interest.<\/p>\n

In return, LU Arts expect recipients to actively contribute to the creative life of the University through delivering and participating in events that showcase the best of our student talent.<\/p>\n

What’s included?<\/h3>\n

All of the scholarships have a cash prize and a tailored programme of mentoring. The music scholarships are aimed at supporting high-level musicians and singers in further developing their abilities.<\/p>\n

What are the scholarships for?<\/h3>\n

There are a total of 9 scholarships on offer, in the following areas:<\/p>\n

3 x instrumental scholarships<\/em><\/p>\n

2 x choral scholarships<\/em><\/p>\n

1 x singer-songwriter\/contemporary solo artist scholarship<\/em><\/p>\n

1 x creative writing\/spoken word scholarship<\/em> – This scholarship has been created to support the ongoing development of the popular performance poetry night Speech Bubble at LSU. This twice-yearly event combines open mic sessions with professional poets.<\/p>\n

1 x performing arts scholarship<\/em> –\u00a0Open to students who actively participate in dance, acting, or other forms of performing arts.<\/p>\n

1 x open scholarship<\/em> –\u00a0Open to those interested in art forms not covered by other scholarships. This could include DJ’ing, drawing, ceramics, animation, playwriting, circus skills and more.<\/p>\n

Note: the ambition of the scholarships is to support students’\u00a0extra-curricular<\/em>\u00a0activities. As such, the scholarships are not open to students whose degree directly relates to the art form in which the scholarship is offered.
