You can download a meal planner or make your own. This will help you to only buy the food you need, avoiding food waste and unnecessary purchases.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Track what you have in your cupboards and your fridge before you do your food shop so that you don\u2019t accidentally buy something you already have.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Consider cashback apps &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.savethestudent.org\/save-money\/food-drink\/the-best-supermarket-cashback-apps.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Save the Student\u2019s<\/a> web page has advice on the best supermarket cashback apps.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Find out when your supermarket reduces the price of food and time your shopping trip to match.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Look out for bargain sections and yellow labels.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Compare each supermarket to find the best deals by using <a href=\"https:\/\/mysupermarketcompare.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My Supermarket Compare<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Make use of Loughborough\u2019s\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.charnwood.gov.uk\/pages\/markets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">excellent outdoor market<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecoreplenishers.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">zero-waste shop<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Take advantage of Loughborough\u2019s own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/media\/media\/services\/sustainability\/downloads\/fruit-routes-foraging-map-may16.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fruit Routes trail<\/a>. Often these items of clothing are only worn a couple of times before being thrown away.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can reduce your contribution to fast fashion by shopping second hand. There are a number of charity shops in Loughborough or you can use apps like Depop and Vinted.&nbsp; You can also use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lborovintage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Loughborough Vintage<\/a>, run by current students including Michael Vincent who said:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think you should buy sustainably because it\u2019s cheaper, it supports small businesses, all the items are unique. The aim is to repurpose and recycle as many items as possible that would otherwise end up in general waste and landfill.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loughborough University have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/internal\/news\/2021\/august\/your-coffee-neednt-cost-the-earth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">25p surcharge<\/a> for every drink served in a disposable cup when purchasing from cafes and outlets on campus.
