This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about your degree, career prospects, teaching methods and the overall student experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Academic 1:1 calls are offered to all offer-holders via email and will usually be with the Programme Director, who is responsible for overseeing your degree programme. Once you submit a request, our academic team will contact you to arrange a date and time that is convenient for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The call will take place via Microsoft Teams and can be either a video or phone call, depending on your preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We know speaking to an academic for the first time might feel a little intimidating, so we\u2019ve put together some guidance to help you prepare. This includes what to expect during your call, the types of questions you can ask and some examples of questions you may want to consider asking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What could you talk about?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>You might want to know more about the&nbsp;degree<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What does a typical week look like for a student on\u00a0the\u00a0degree?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Which modules do students find most valuable and most challenging?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How much choice\u00a0will you\u00a0have over modules and dissertation topic?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is the programme more theoretical or more\u00a0practical?\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What makes this programme different from similar ones at other universities?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How\u00a0does my employment or\u00a0previous\u00a0studies prepare me for the degree?\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What prizes are there for students who do well on the degree?\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The academic can tell you about&nbsp;teaching and assessment<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who teaches on the programme, and how much access will I have to them?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How large are seminars and\u00a0lectures?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How will I be assessed?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How is the dissertation\u00a0run, and how\u00a0will\u00a0I choose a\u00a0topic and\u00a0supervisor?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are there opportunities to work on projects with external organisations?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is there anything I should read or do before\u00a0my first class?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>You could ask about careers<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Where do graduates from this programme typically go after\u00a0graduation?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How does the programme help students build a professional network in London?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What careers support is available\u00a0and what does the Future Space do?\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are there micro-internship or work placement opportunities?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How does the programme prepare students for\u00a0work after graduation?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I am interested in [your\u00a0career\u00a0goal].
