Five time saving tips

We know that working with any system can be time consuming occasionally. Therefore we’ve produced the following list of tips to save time when managing your online reading lists:

  • Tip no. 5: If you have two or more modules that use the same reading list then you can arrange to have the list shared among these modules. This means that you only need to edit the list once to update all the modules.
  • Tip no. 4: When populating a new reading list on the system try importing it if you already have the list available in reference management software (e.g. RefWorks) or as a MS Word (docx) document.
  • Tip no. 3: Install and use the bibGrab tool so you can easily add to your reading lists when browsing the web.
  • Tip no. 2: Use the bulk functions to easily copy sections from one reading lists to another or to change the importance of citation on the list.

And the number one tip is:

  • Tip no. 1: Instead of maintaining a separate version of your reading list in MS Word, treat the online version as your master copy and simply export it if and when necessary (e.g. for insertion into a module handbook).
