I am currently in the \u2018post-exam-bewilderment\u2019 stage; I have so much time and no idea how to spend it.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>However, this is never a bad thing! Although in previous years this has concluded in endless pyjama days with the mouse too close to the \u2018play next episode\u2019 button, I plan to make this summer my most productive yet (fingers crossed). I hope my ideas will inspire you to make the most of your summer and crawl out of the binge watching, lying in til\u2019 12 hole that has been my summers of the past\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>1. Consume all of the culture<\/h3>\n<p>Well into my challenge of reading 24 books this year, the summer break will be valuable in getting my current total of 7 up to that desirable 24. Summer days are perfect for reading and although not the most sociable activity, it&#8217;s one that you definitely feel the benefit of. As well as books I plan to tick a few more films off my ever growing \u2018watch list\u2019. Easily turned into a film night with friends, my recent favourites have included Leon: The Professional, The Green Mile and The Terminal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2030\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/1-370x247.jpg 370w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/1-770x513.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>2. Develop my design skills<\/h3>\n<p>To keep the workaholic inside me at bay over the summer, I plan on developing my drawing and design skills. Doing the #ArtADay challenge on my Instagram (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/laurenjefferisdesign\/\">@laurenjefferisdesign<\/a>) over Easter has inspired me to continue drawing over the summer as well as experiment with new techniques such as block printing and brush lettering.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2032\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/2-smaller.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/2-smaller.jpg 399w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/2-smaller-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/2-smaller-370x556.jpg 370w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>3. Get moving<\/h3>\n<p>With little sleep and little time to exercise over the exam period I finished my last exam, feeling free, but feeling a little bit like a revision potato (cousin of the coach potato). I am looking forward to getting active again by making the most of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/loughboroughsport.com\/fitness-classes\/\">fitness classes<\/a> at Powerbase and going on runs in the (hopefully) sunny weather.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Room detox<\/h3>\n<p>Having spent a year in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/services\/accommodation\/halls\/\">university halls<\/a>, I am questioning whether all the clothes\/hoarded items in my cupboards at home really add anything to my life. If I haven\u2019t missed them for a year, do I really need them? So I plan on having a room detox. Clearing out my cupboards will make it easier to see what I actually use and need. Keep in touch<\/h3>\n<p>Moving home for the summer means moving away from all your university friends! Although we may live at either end of the country I want to make an effort to keep in touch with all the people I have met this year, even if that\u2019s just via social media.<\/p>\n<p>So there\u2019s an insight into how I will be spending my summer. I hope I have given you a couple of ideas of how to make the summer relaxing and fun, with a side of productive!
