The best way to spread Christmas cheer<\/b>, is singing loud for all to hear. <\/p>\n
As <\/span><\/span>the <\/span><\/span>end of term <\/span><\/span>is just around the corner, University students might struggle with getting into the Christmas spirit away from home! <\/span><\/span>First years face their first Winter away from home whilst final years face their last Loughborough <\/span><\/span>Christmas!<\/span><\/span> Hence, as a wise old final year, I will bestow upon you my advice for getting<\/span><\/span> into full Christmas mode!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
Step into Christmas!<\/em> <\/h2>\n\n\n
It\u2019s always weird to know that your family <\/span>are<\/span> spending time together<\/span> <\/span>whilst you\u2019re at Uni, especially during the festive season<\/span>! The audacity of them to<\/span> put up decorations and get the Christmas movies on without you!<\/span> Therefore, us students must out-do them in Christmas spirit! I recommend getting an HDMI cable and putting on <\/span>some good old Christmas <\/span>m<\/span>ovies. <\/span>My housemates love the Nativity and sing their hearts out to SPARKLE AND SHINE even <\/span>outside of<\/span> the Christmas season! <\/span>Fully immersing yourself into the Christmas spirit <\/span>really helps to not only distract from missing your loved <\/span>ones but<\/span> looking forward to <\/span>your <\/span>reunion! So<\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>shout \u2018things are really cool in Nazareth!\u2019<\/span> so loudly that neighbours join in your festivities! <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
You can even bring your house together as <\/span>its own little <\/span>family <\/span>through activities like this <\/span>whether you\u2019re doing Christmassy colouring or <\/span>bak<\/span>ing! <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n Snowman brownies are a classic festive treat! <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
All I want for Christmas is more fairy lights\u2026<\/em> <\/h2>\n\n\n
Whilst the Christmas spirit is in the air, fill the rooms with some decoration! <\/span><\/span>My house opted for e<\/span><\/span>lf on the shelf<\/span><\/span>! Hiding them around the house everyday becomes a fun game for <\/span><\/span>everyone! Classic student fairy<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>lights and paper snowflakes are also a cost-efficient way of<\/span><\/span> creating some festive cheer and v<\/span><\/span>isually representing Christmas! Even making your own dec<\/span><\/span>or<\/span><\/span>ations adds to the festivities.<\/span><\/span> Expensive Christmas <\/span><\/span>w<\/span><\/span>reath at home, who?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\nA small length of fairy lights go a long way <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nThose pesky elves seem to crop up everywhere! <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re struggling with homesickness, it\u2019s always nice to have something to look forward to! <\/span><\/span>Buy your ticket home! Or perhaps get a cheap advent calendar to reward yourself with every day you make it through deadlines until home! <\/span><\/span>Time will truly fly by if you keep busy!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
\u2018Fairytale of Nottingham\u2019<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n
Whilst you<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>re buying <\/span><\/span>your home transport<\/span><\/span> ticket, consider visiting the local Christmas fairs, such as the one in Nottingham!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>Loughborough is of course situated near the two large cities of Nottingham and Leices<\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>er,<\/span><\/span> making it so easy to have a city Christmas day of <\/span><\/span>present <\/span><\/span>shopping, Winter Wonderland fun, outdoor ice skating<\/span><\/span>, and even a<\/span><\/span> light switch on<\/span><\/span>!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\nThe Winter Wonderland Nottingham Christmas market is free to enter and boasts over 70 traditional, Bavarian-style stalls to make finding the perfect gift easy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe Loughborough Christmas lights transform the town centre after dark<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
