Having spent three years in Loughborough, I feel that I know the ins-and-outs of the town and I can give you a little insight into the hidden gems if you choose to study at Loughborough!<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Places to eat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As students, we love our coffee shops! They are the perfect place to relax and get some work done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My personal favourite in the town is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/publicandplants\/?hl=en\">Public and Plants<\/a> who do the most amazing homemade rocky road &#8211; in a shop surrounded by\u2026plants (which is very good for the mind and relaxing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another thing that is good for the mind is healthy eating. If you\u2019re into your health but still love a delicious treat, you should definitely head down to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegreenbowluk.com\/\">The Green Bowl<\/a> where you can grab a salad, smoothie bowl or a toasted bagel filled with goodness! But in the evenings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peterpizzeria.co.uk\/\">Peter Pizzeria<\/a> is definitely one of the student-favourite restaurants; they do the best homemade pizzas in an authentic pizza oven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/public-plants-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5442\" width=\"824\" height=\"824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/public-plants-1.jpeg 960w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/public-plants-1-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/public-plants-1-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/public-plants-1-768x768.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 824px) 100vw, 824px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Walks and parks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the delicious food and cute coffee shops, Loughborough is filled with beautiful views and calming walks and hidden gems; one thing that Loughborough students really appreciate. You\u2019ve just got to know where to find them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many students love to go for a morning run down by the canal, or a walk around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.charnwood.gov.uk\/pages\/charnwood_water\">Charnwood Waters <\/a>where you can see a lot of local wildlife. You can also find some parrots in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.charnwood.gov.uk\/pages\/queenspark\">Queens Park<\/a>, which always surprises people! If you fancy a bit more of a journey, then why not cycle to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leicscountryparks.org.uk\/beacon-visitor\/\">Beacon Hill<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bradgatepark.org\/\">Bradgate Park <\/a>and go for a picnic? I\u2019d recommend going on a Sunday evening when the sun is setting. There is an amazing view overlooking Loughborough, with Nottingham in the distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/sunset.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/sunset.jpeg 960w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/sunset-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/sunset-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/04\/sunset-768x768.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other entertainment and activities <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes at the weekend when I have some extra time and fancy a fun activity, I like to go to the golf range which is only down the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if you fancy something a bit more challenging then the escape rooms are definitely for you! These are especially popular during freshers time, as they are a fun way to bond with your flat! As well as this, there is a local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skateparks.co.uk\/leicestershire\/loughborough-skatepark\/\">skatepark<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loughboroughtownhall.co.uk\/\">Loughborough Town Hall<\/a> that holds regular shows such as comedy nights and musicals, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/theclimbingstation.com\/\">rock-climbing centre<\/a>, and a leisure centre with a pool and a sports hall. All these things certainly give you a good excuse to try something new and step outside your comfort zone alongside meeting new people.
