Guided by <em><a title=\"Academic Quality Procedures Handbook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/admin\/ar\/policy\/aqp\/index.htm\">Academic Quality Procedures Handbook<\/a><\/em>, and in particular by\u00a0<a title=\"Appendix 16\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/admin\/ar\/policy\/aqp\/appendix\/16\/index.htm\">Appendix 16 &#8211; Personal Tutoring and Academic Guidance: Minimum Standards<\/a>, a new Teaching Centre\u00a0resource has been created to support the work of colleagues, as well as their Personal Tutees.<\/p>\n<p>Entitled <a title=\"Academic and Personal Tutoring Community of Practice\" href=\"http:\/\/learn.lboro.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=9124\">Academic and Personal Tutoring Community of Practice<\/a>, this Learn module brings together resources from across campus\u00a0\u2013 including\u00a0materials developed in the School of Business and Economics regarding <a title=\"The Role of Personal Tutor\" href=\"http:\/\/learn.lboro.ac.uk\/mod\/resource\/view.php?id=225868\">The Role of Personal Tutor<\/a>, in\u00a0the Department of Geography\u00a0relating to <a title=\"Personal Development\" href=\"http:\/\/learn.lboro.ac.uk\/mod\/resource\/view.php?id=220480\">Personal Development<\/a>, etc.\u00a0\u2013 as well as guidance from beyond Loughborough University, including\u00a0what\u00a0Phil Race (Emeritus Professor, Leeds Metropolitan University) has to say regarding <a title=\"Making personal tutoring work\" href=\"http:\/\/learn.lboro.ac.uk\/mod\/resource\/view.php?id=262405\">Making personal tutoring work<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For further information regarding provision (including both bespoke and dedicated Staff Development workshops\u00a0on <a title=\"Academic and Personal Tutoring\" href=\"http:\/\/pdwww.lboro.ac.uk\/eventdetails_single.php?cid=2211\">Academic and Personal Tutoring<\/a>),\u00a0as well as\u00a0other resources\u00a0in this whole area,\u00a0do not hesitate to get in touch with the <a title=\"Teaching Centre - email m.fitzgerald@lboro.ac.uk\" href=\"mailto:%20m.fitzgerald@lboro.ac.uk?subject=Academic%20and%20Personal%20Tutoring%20Community%20of%20Practice\">Teaching Centre<\/a>; alternatively, please see the existing\u00a0<a title=\"Information for academic and personal tutors\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/services\/teachingcentre\/information-for\/academicstaff\/academicandpersonaltutors\/\">Information for academic and personal tutors<\/a> resource for more details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Personal Tutors have a central role to play in the support\u00a0\u2013 both academic and pastoral \u2013\u00a0that is on offer to our students.
