A colleague was recently\u00a0in touch regarding group work resources, and that set us to thinking. Indeed, it led us to conclude that there is\u00a0a lot of good advice out there already from which we can draw.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the <a title=\"Learnhigher\" href=\"http:\/\/www.learnhigher.ac.uk\/\">Learnhigher\u00a0Centre for Excellence in Teaching &amp; Learning<\/a> archive continues to function, and they have useful materials such as those regarding <a title=\"Learnhigher - Group Work\" href=\"http:\/\/archive.learnhigher.ac.uk\/groupwork\/index.php\">Learnhigher &#8211; Group Work<\/a>. Indeed, the Teaching Centre\u00a0continues to host\u00a0Derek Blease&#8217;s seminal\u00a0resource entitled <a title=\"Group and Team Work\" href=\"http:\/\/learn.lboro.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=3612\">Group and\u00a0Team Work: A Guide for Staff<\/a> on Learn, and\u00a0we\u00a0also deliver the <a title=\"Teaching Small Groups\" href=\"http:\/\/pdwww.lboro.ac.uk\/eventdetails.php?run=12443\">Teaching Small\u00a0Groups<\/a> workshop in conjunction with Staff Development.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, it doesn&#8217;t stop there, indeed the Higher Education Academy (HEA) advice regarding <a title=\"HEA Group Work\" href=\"http:\/\/www.heacademy.ac.uk\/resources\/detail\/internationalisation\/ISL_Group_Work\">Group Work<\/a> (originally developed for use with international students),\u00a0Jenny Moon&#8217;s HEA ESCalate (Education Subject\u00a0Centre)\u00a0publication entitled <a title=\"Making groups work\" href=\"http:\/\/escalate.ac.uk\/downloads\/5413.pdf\">Making\u00a0groups work<\/a>,\u00a0etc., are all worth considering as colleagues seek to develop student skills in terms of group work, individual responsibility,\u00a0peer learning, communication skills, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes we need to be reminded of what we already have!
