Indeed, our work with students, their representatives\u00a0and colleagues across campus features on the Spring 2014 cover page!<\/p>\n<p>The major focus of the articles are the <a title=\"Teaching Innovation Awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/services\/teachingcentre\/procedures-schemes\/teachingawards\/teachinginnovationawards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Teaching Innovation Awards<\/a> (TIAs), the next iteration of which have an application deadline of March 7th, while attention is also drawn to the <a title=\"Research-informed Teaching Awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/services\/teachingcentre\/procedures-schemes\/teachingawards\/researchinformedteachingawards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Research-informed Teaching Awards<\/a> (RiTAs), which have their next deadline on April 28th.<\/p>\n<p>The TIAs were established in 2005, and the main pieces in this edition of\u00a0<a title=\"&quot;News at Lboro&quot; No.77 Spring 2014\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/media\/wwwlboroacuk\/content\/informationforstaff\/newsletter\/pdf\/56372%20news%20at%20lboro%2077_web.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">news at lboro<\/a>\u00a0centre on the innovative nature of previous awards, and detail the work undertaken by a number of recent recipients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2011<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a title=\"Emma Dresser\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lsu.co.uk\/voice\/\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Dresser<\/a> (Loughborough Students&#8217; Union)\u00a0&amp; <a title=\"Dr Robert Harland\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/sota\/staff\/robert-harland\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Robert Harland <\/a>(School of the Arts) \u2013 &#8220;Feedback: facilitating reflection to promote learning&#8221; supported the development of the LSU <a title=\"Feedback\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lsu.co.uk\/voice\/feedback\/\" target=\"_blank\">Feedback<\/a> resource<\/li>\n<li><strong>2012<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a title=\"Dr Thomas Jun\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/lds\/staff\/dr-gyuchan-thomas-jun.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Thomas Jun<\/a> and <a title=\"Dr Tom Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/lds\/staff\/dr-tom-page.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Tom Page<\/a> (Loughborough Design School) \u2013 &#8220;Lego-based learning initiative for systems design and ergonomics teaching \u2013 efficiencies in teaching through the use of technology (Lego Mindstorms NXT: programmable robotics kit)&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2013<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a title=\"Dr Melanie Ramdarshan Bold\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/english-drama\/staff\/dr-melanie-ramdarshan-bold.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Melanie Ramdarshan Bold<\/a> (English and Drama) \u2013 &#8220;Loughborough University Press: How a student-led teaching press can lead to enterprise and employability&#8221;\u00a0supported the development of <a title=\"Lamplight Press\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/english-drama\/enterprise\/casestudies\/lamplightpress\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lamplight Press<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Meanwhile, the RiTAs are about to enter their second year, and they will be looking to add to\u00a0a roll of honour that includes <a title=\"Prof Jonathon Chambers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/eese\/ourpeople\/staff\/academics\/professors\/chambers-jonathon.html\" target=\"_blank\">Prof Jonathon Chambers<\/a> (Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering), <a title=\"Prof Barbara Jaworski\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/mec\/staff\/barbara-jaworski.html\">Prof Barbara Jaworski <\/a>(Maths Education Centre), <a title=\"Dr Carol Robinson\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/mec\/staff\/carol-robinson.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Carol Robinson<\/a> (Maths Education Centre), and <a title=\"Dr Adrian Spencer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/aae\/about\/staff\/dr-adrian-spencer.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Adrian Spencer<\/a> (Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering).
