\"BoB<\/a>This year will see a major upgrade for BoB National<\/a><\/b>\u00a0(Box of Broadcasts), including new features and an improved user experience. These developments are a result of feedback received from users.<\/p>\n

The new BoB National will be launched in October 2013<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The new features will include:<\/b><\/p>\n

– access to more than 500,000 new BBC TV and radio <\/b>programmes,\u00a0dating from 2007, from the BBC archive<\/p>\n

– an additional 13 foreign language channels<\/b><\/p>\n

– an extended recording buffer<\/b> \u2013 giving you more channels, available for longer<\/p>\n

– a new website look<\/b>, including colour, theme,\u00a0functionality and improved navigation.<\/p>\n

– the ability to search across future and recorded\u00a0programmes<\/b> simultaneously<\/p>\n

– interactive transcripts<\/b> and dynamic subtitle searches<\/p>\n

– Apple iOS compatibility <\/b><\/p>\n

– the ability to easily create clips and clip\u00a0compilations, and share programmes and playlists via social media<\/b><\/p>\n

– the option to make YouTube-style comments on\u00a0progammes<\/b><\/p>\n

– a quick link to the new BUFVC AV \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Citation Guidelines<\/a>, allowing you the opportunity to reference\u00a0rogrammes within your work easily.<\/b><\/p>\n

Plus we will be moving the main BoB National system to a purpose-built datacentre, which will prevent any future disruption to BoB, previously caused by power shortages in central London.
