{"id":2738,"date":"2014-01-08T14:07:34","date_gmt":"2014-01-08T14:07:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/copyright.lboro.ac.uk\/elearning\/?p=2738"},"modified":"2014-11-19T16:53:40","modified_gmt":"2014-11-19T16:53:40","slug":"a-learning-technology-mooc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/2014\/01\/08\/a-learning-technology-mooc\/","title":{"rendered":"A Learning Technology MOOC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2014\/01\/uofs-logo11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2739 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2014\/01\/uofs-logo11.png\" alt=\"uofs-logo\" width=\"275\" height=\"62\" \/><\/a>I was recently pointed in the direction of a MOOC \/ TOOC (Truly Open Online Course) by the University of Saskatchewan entitled<a title=\"Learning Tech MOOC webpage\" href=\"http:\/\/words.usask.ca\/learning-tech\/\" target=\"_blank\"> \u2018Introduction to Learning Technologies\u2019<\/a> and have decided to give it a go. The course covers units on tools such as RSS feeds, Twitter, e-Portfolios, Copyright, Wikis and Lecture Capture, to name a few. As well as being useful to my job role I\u2019m keen to learn more about these tools anyway so I\u2019m really looking forward to getting into this course. With the\u00a0interest and enthusiasm surrounding MOOCs at the moment it will also be\u00a0useful to see what the practicalities of these online courses are and how it fits in alongside fulltime work for example.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone else fancies joining myself and another member of the Teaching Centre in registering for this course <a title=\"Learning Tech MOOC website\" href=\"http:\/\/words.usask.ca\/learning-tech\/\" target=\"_blank\">click here <\/a>for more information and anyone in the Loughborough University Learning and Teaching Community that does sign up and wants to get in touch about the course\/ swap notes\u00a0please do!
