Automated video lecture capture is perhaps the fastest growing area of learning technology within Higher Education, and it&#8217;s a technology that after a year&#8217;s piloting is now becoming embedded in the mainstream at Loughborough.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/elearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/rsz_1echo360.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-48\" title=\"ReVIEW\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/elearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/rsz_1echo360.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of Lboro History captured lecture\" width=\"380\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2010\/02\/rsz_1echo360.jpg 380w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2010\/02\/rsz_1echo360-300x232.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 380px) 100vw, 380px\" \/><\/a>By the start of Semester 1 we&#8217;ll have\u00a010 teaching rooms equipped with fixed lecture capture installations and Teaching Support\u00a0are also be offering a mobile lecture capture service which can be delivered in pretty much any room on campus.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to use <strong>ReVIEW<\/strong>, as the lecture capture service has now been rebranded*, please could you ask your Departmental Administrator to include your requirements on the Semester one request sheet. Facilities Management begin the room allocation process from July 26th.<\/p>\n<p>*<strong>ReVIEW<\/strong> was previously known on campus as Echo 360, the commercial lecture capture system which currently underpins our service.<\/p>\n<p>In rebranding the service as ReVIEW we hope to communicate to both academics and students what the service is about &#8211; and what it&#8217;s NOT about! It definitely IS about providing all students with a means of watching again specific sections of a lecture that they struggled with the first time around, and helping them to revise. And it IS about supporting DANS students and those with additional needs. It ISN&#8217;T about offering an alternative to attendance for campus-based students, and indeed research across the sector suggests that this concern about attendance isn&#8217;t reflected by how students actually make use of capture lectures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;but not, we hope, the lecturer!
