Their experiences had been very different with one exception \u2013 all said there was irreplaceable value in their placement. They saw benefit to them as individuals and to their studies.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3369\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/12\/video.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3369\" class=\"wp-image-3369 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/12\/video-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"video\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/12\/video-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/12\/video-401x300.jpg 401w, https:\/\/blog.lboro.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/12\/video.jpg 453w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3369\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Filming took place in the English and Drama lecture theatre.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The students all volunteered as part of a Teaching Innovation Award project led by Dr. Amanda Berry from the SBE.\u00a0 They had a list of interview questions in advance so that they could prepare their answers; each list tailored to each student. This allowed them to really think through what they wanted to say to share the best insight into their journeys.<\/p>\n<p>Sound advice for placement-seeking students is rich \u2013 from how organized you need to be to secure a placement; interview preparations; and also the amount of time demanded for making applications and researching companies.<\/p>\n<p>The raw video files are now being edited and answers collated for each specific question.\u00a0 A compilation of voices of experience will create a final film which will be available for use by the Careers Education Centre (CEC) and school placement teams.<\/p>\n<p>The final films will be made available on Learn and on the CEC webpages.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Six final year students from the School of Business and Economics (SBE) have shared their experiences of placements to help those now hunting for a place for next year.
