want a submission deleted, the request has to be passed back to the iParadigms folk in Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0York<\/em> use an Epigeum module on plagiarism, and students have to attain a pass mark in this course in order to pass their first year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0Cardiff<\/em> flagged up that international trade in essays over the internet was a potential problem.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Foreign users can\u2019t see our essays and we can\u2019t see theirs.\u00a0 So if a Hong Kong-based student passes their cousin (@ Lboro) an essay, the UK-based detection system won\u2019t find the HK essay.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The Moodle Deep Integration plug-in is now ready.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0Keele<\/em> use TII extensively, but have not had much take-up of the GradeMark online marking tool (which we will introduce with the Moodle plug-in, probably at Easter).<\/p>\n<p>Barriers to adoption included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tutors like to mark in short bursts, wherever they can.\u00a0 GradeMark requires that you be online throughout the process.<\/li>\n<li>The general comments box has a limit of 9000 characters.\u00a0 Some academics want to write more than this on a student\u2019s essay (!)<\/li>\n<li>Small screen size on older PCs makes use awkward.\u00a0 The new interface, due to be introduced in January 2011, works best with a widescreen monitor.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Editing the text doesn\u2019t work exactly like Track Changes in Word<\/li>\n<li>You must use numeric grading \u2013 no letter grades<\/li>\n<li>There is no audio commentary tool, though one is planned.<\/li>\n<li>There is no provision for a second marker.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to print out the marked-up essay with the tutor\u2019s comments, you need to save it to PDF
