If our brain detects that we do not have secure connections, this triggers a stress response and our self-esteem plummets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building strong relationships is important for your wellbeing as they can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give you a chance to share positive experiences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help you to build a sense of self-worth and belonging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide you with emotional support and allow you to support others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplypsychology.org\/maslow.html\">Maslow\u2019s Hierarchy of Needs<\/a>, love and belonging are among the most important needs we must meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s good to have healthy relationships with family, friends, and colleagues, but what is often overlooked are the connections we make with strangers.
