Here\u2019s what they shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lilia Boukikova, Internal Communications Assistant: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NM4e606yFJg&amp;list=RDNM4e606yFJg&amp;start_radio=1\">Dive<\/a>\u2019 by Olivia Dean \u2013 \u201cI love this song, it&#8217;s super upbeat and makes me smile!\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr Ana Cristina Suzina, Lecturer in Media and Creative Industries: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MhGTQfyVj5w&amp;list=RDMhGTQfyVj5w&amp;start_radio=1\">The Little Train of the Caipira<\/a>\u2019 by Heitor Villa-Lobos \u2013 \u201cIt\u2019s a piece of music that energises and moves me. If I am not able to move my body when I listen to it, it does not matter. I feel my soul dancing anyway.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Surya Mahdi, Teaching Associate: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CYZwVf07tHA&amp;list=RDCYZwVf07tHA&amp;start_radio=1\">Aja<\/a>\u2019 by Steely Dan \u2013 \u201cIt calms me when listening to it.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sarah Van-Zoelen, Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing: \u201cI love running to anything by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCNOPATl0JcguaVn1ovKWU1w\">Sam Fender<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bryony Stewart-Seume, Programme Quality Officer: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ta4rHfgxarI&amp;list=RDta4rHfgxarI&amp;start_radio=1\">Ladybird<\/a>\u2019 by Natalie Merchant \u2013 \u201cAny Natalie Merchant song fits the brief, as it doesn\u2019t matter what mood I am in; her music always complements or lifts it, but \u2018Ladybird\u2019 is the epitome of this. It starts reasonably quietly, but by the end I am conducting the string quartet in its rousing finale. It lifts me, it motivates me, and it caresses my soul.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rebecca Higginson, Reader in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and Associate Dean for EDI: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KLVq0IAzh1A&amp;list=RDKLVq0IAzh1A&amp;start_radio=1\">Fields of gold<\/a>\u2019 by Sting \u2013 \u201cIt makes me feel calm.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thomas Steffen, Reader in Control of Energy Systems: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZehjaPOvA80&amp;list=RDZehjaPOvA80&amp;start_radio=1\">Read my sign<\/a>\u2019 by Bell, Book and Candle \u2013 \u201cFor me it has to be metal. That may not sound relaxing, but it is. Just a matter of taste.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anne Souchon, Professor of International Marketing: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZaI2IlHwmgQ&amp;list=RDZaI2IlHwmgQ&amp;start_radio=1\">Pump It<\/a>\u2019 by Black Eyed Peas \u2013 \u201cFor pumping iron (pun intended) in the gym!\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Courtney Reed, Lecturer in Digital Technologies and Creative Futures: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/aQUlA8Hcv4s?si=NfD5M8wBhK1wJtzp\">Mr. Blue Sky<\/a>\u2019 by Electric Light Orchestra \u2013 \u201cI just love the positivity of the beat and the lyrics of the song, even at the end when of course the blue sky does have to fade away, its memory is still there. I can&#8217;t help but to jump around a bit or do some \u2018running down the avenue\u2019 when I hear it. Great for road trips!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Get involved with music at Loughborough<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/arts\/\">LU Arts<\/a> offer a variety of opportunities for staff to engage with music including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seven&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/arts\/facilities\/music-rooms\/\">music practice rooms<\/a>&nbsp;on campus which are free to use and open every day from 8am-10pm (to access these music rooms you need to join the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/arts\/get-involved\/societies-groups\/groups\/music-vip\/\">Music VIP club<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Music short courses, one-off workshops and live music nights which take place throughout the year, keep an eye out for these events on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/arts\/whats-on\/\">LU Arts events page<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/arts\/get-involved\/societies-groups\/groups\/university-choir\/\">University Choir<\/a>, open to staff, students and members of the public to join, they rehearse on Monday evenings during term time and put on two concerts each year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/arts\/get-involved\/tuition-classes\/music-tuition\/\">Music tuition<\/a>, available for beginners and advanced musicians, LU Arts currently offer tuition in clarinet, flute,&nbsp;guitar (acoustic, electric and bass), piano, saxophone, singing, violin, viola and other woodwind<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Image: Courtesy of Getty Images One powerful, often underestimated tool for enhancing our wellbeing is music.
