Last years event in London saw elite professionals and organisations present workshops and seminars on their area of expertise. The presentations offered delegates an opportunity to learn the diverse careers available in the sport, health and fitness industry and the qualifications and experience for each profession.
2013 presentations included;
The Power Of Marketing And Sport by Sharon Colligan, Skills Active
Sharon is the Head of Marketing for Skills Active, licensed as the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being. This presentation provided an overview of a career in marketing, types of marketing (sponsorship, B2B and B2C), marketing strategy (practical exercise), possible career routes in (sports) marketing and the importance of marketing to other roles.
Working In Sports Communications by Libby Jellie, Sport and Recreation Alliance
Libby is the Communications Manager for the Sport and Recreation Alliance, an umbrella organisation for the governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation in the UK and represents more than 320 members.
Engage to Compete by Dean Horridge, CEO Fit for Sport
Dean demonstrated the importance of engaging children through activity at a young age and the role a coach can play in ensuring children understand the importance of lifelong physical activity.
From TA to Teacher: Employment opportunities working in schools by Jon Pettit, PE Recruitment
Jon discussed a variety of options available in the education sector, culminating in how to become a PE Teacher. The presentation also focused on where to seek out these opportunities and provided application and interview tips.

Elite Coaching Session
Delegates had the opportunity to observe 2 coaching sessions delivered to international athletes in the Indoor Athletics Centre.
