Cancer Research UK – UK’s leading cancer charity.

Hospice Hope – is a registered charity providing support to people with life limiting illnesses and has set up local Support Cafés to provide free, easily accessible ‘drop-in’ support on a weekly basis in North West Leicestershire and a Day Hospice.

The Prince’s Trust – believe that every young person should have the chance to succeed, so helps 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives.

Each company will present for 15 minutes, there will be an opportunity for Q&A (so please bring any questions you have along) and informal networking after the event.

Japanese Government Postgraduate Scholarships

Applications for the 2018 Japanese Government (MEXT) Postgraduate Scholarship are now open and application forms are available to download from the Embassy of Japan website at:

The closing date for applications is: Thursday 1 June 2017 5pm (GMT).

This scholarship is tenable for 24 months from April 2018 or 18 months from September/October 2018, including 6 months of Japanese language education, and no prior knowledge of the Japanese language is necessary.

Research or study can be undertaken in almost any field as long as it is relevant to a grantee’s field of expertise or previous study and it is possible to be enrolled onto a Master’s/PhD course on this scholarship.
