New Music and Arts Scholarships for 2018
LU Arts is offering nine arts scholarships that are open to students across our Loughborough & London campuses.
Who can apply?
Scholarships will be awarded to students who have a passion and commitment to a particular art form and who would benefit from a package of support that would enable them to develop their skill and knowledge in their field of interest.
In return, LU Arts expect recipients to actively contribute to the creative life of the University through delivering and participating in events that showcase the best of our student talent.
What’s included?
All of the scholarships have a cash prize and a tailored programme of mentoring. The music scholarships are aimed at supporting high-level musicians and singers in further developing their abilities.
What are the scholarships for?
There are a total of 9 scholarships on offer, in the following areas:
3 x instrumental scholarships
2 x choral scholarships
1 x singer-songwriter/contemporary solo artist scholarship
1 x creative writing/spoken word scholarship – This scholarship has been created to support the ongoing development of the popular performance poetry night Speech Bubble at LSU. This twice-yearly event combines open mic sessions with professional poets.
1 x performing arts scholarship – Open to students who actively participate in dance, acting, or other forms of performing arts.
1 x open scholarship – Open to those interested in art forms not covered by other scholarships. This could include DJ’ing, drawing, ceramics, animation, playwriting, circus skills and more.
