February 22nd-24th 2013 Loughborough University Model United Nations Society will be hosting a national conference where you will get the opportunity to represent a country and debate some of the most topical global issues. After the success of last year’s conference we are keen to hold LufbraMUN 2013 on an even bigger and better scale. The Conference will attract students from across the UK, but we are also keen to have as many Loughborough students in attendance.
So what is LufbraMUN?
Model United Nations (MUN) is a real life simulation of the United Nations, where you could represent a foreign ambassador and debate topics including nuclear weapons, the rights of disabled people and human trafficking.
SOCHUM: (Social Cultural and Humanitarian Committee)
DISEC: (Disarmament and International Security Committee)
UN Security Council:
Why should I participate?
MUN is a great way to improve your confidence, public speaking and negotiation skills as well as a great way to meet new people and learn new things. Further to this participation in the Conference could count for points towards the Loughborough Employability Award:http://www.lboro.ac.uk/service/careers/experience/employability/award/.
For more information visit our website: http://www.lufbramun2013.com/ or contact sg@lufbramun2013.com for more information. Delegate fees are only £20 for a whole weekend of debating, which includes all your conference materials and entry to FND.
