Women play a key role in leading our network and we’re committed to supporting the emergence of more female leaders across the business community. Our ‘Aspire to Lead’ conference is an important new element of our agenda. We’ve designed the programme to include both internal and external guest speakers providing practical ideas on how you can; put your best self forward, make the most of your personal brand, communicate with impact, think big and ultimately realise your career potential. You’ll also take part in a webcast with Facebook COO and author of Lean In for Graduates, Sheryl Sandberg broadcast live from Facebook’s studio in California, followed by an interactive panel discussion.  This is an opportunity not to be missed.

Audience:                The event is primarily aimed at women, but men can also apply
What you need:         At least a 300 UCAS tariff or above

Creating your Personal Brand with Vanessa Vallely (London only)
Vanessa Vallely is the founder of leading women’s network, job board and website, WeAreTheCity and CareersCity which serves an audience of over 70,000 City Women. Vanessa is a qualified career coach who has had an extensive 25 year career in Banking and Finance in London. She has also just published a book Heels of Steel.

Communicating with Impact with Paula Dijoux from PwC (London only)
Paula Dijoux is an expert in communication at PwC and the head of client development. Prior to this Paula was a sales performance consultant and coach to professional services helping organisations improve their business success through communication. This fun and interactive session will get you thinking about your style and how you can have impact through communication.

Genius Power Dreams with Andy Woodfield from PwC (London only)
Andy Woodfield is a Consulting Partner at PwC and also the Partner champion of GLEE, our inclusive business network for Gays, Lesbians and Everyone Else.  He joined PwC in 1998 and in 2011 he set up Genius Power Dreams (GPD) and runs it both internally and for clients. In his own words, GPD is about  ‘Inspiring people to spend more time working with their natural and unique strengths, with dreams and ambitions and remembering that we are all unique, flawed and amazing human beings regardless of where we are in life, what job we have or the decision and choices we have made to date’. He leads the International Aid Development Consulting practice and also the Building Strength in Leaders programme.

Live webcast and panel discussion (London and the regions)
In 2013 Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO ignited a conversation about women and ambition when she published her book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, and set up a non-profit organisation called LeanIn.Org.  Sheryl has authored a new book  ‘Lean In for Graduates’, and has agreed to share her perspective on this topic and respond to questions in a live webcast from Facebook’s studio in California with PwC colleagues from across our global network. She’ll be offering tips to graduates for finding the right job, negotiating your first salary and succeeding in your career.   The webcast will be followed by an interactive UK led panel discussion with senior PwC Partners, and guests.

Lasting impressions (London and the regions)
The day will end with a drinks reception and networking so you’ll get plenty of opportunity to speak to everyone you’ve met, or heard from, throughout the day. You’ll have an opportunity to have a free professional photo taken to make sure you’re presenting a professional image online, and you’ll also get the chance to win an iPad mini or up to £150 of retail vouchers!
