Using bibGrab

Whilst browsing the web if you see a book or journal worth adding to your reading list(s) then simply click on the “bibGrab” bookmark on your browser toolbar (assuming you have first installed this). A new browser tab or window will now open showing the bibliographic details of what it has discovered on the page. For some websites (e.g. Amazon) there is often a lot of bibliographic information hidden on each page.

  • Top tip: If you can see an ISBN/ISSN on a webpage then highlight this before clicking on the bibGrab bookmark to reduce the number of results you get.

You will now need to login to the system using your standard University username and password.

Clicking on one of the items shown will cause a popup window will appear allowing you to select which of your reading lists to add it to. Select one or more lists and then click on the Add link (bottom-left of popup window).

Items added via bibGrab are appended to the bottom of your reading list(s) in a hidden state. You can un-hide them and re-order them at a later time.
