AU Trampolining l Focus Series
Jodi from AU Trampolining tells us all about the sport, and what it’s like to be a member of the club. If you want to compete, or just fancy a bounce and a laugh, then Trampolining might be the sport for you.
What levels of experience do you cater to?
We cater for all levels of experience, be it a total novice or a medal winning trampolinist, our club is perfect for anyone wishing to join! You don’t even have to compete, you can just come along for a bit of a laugh and some quality coaching!
Why did you join this club?
I enjoyed trampolining recreationally before coming to Loughborough, and I wanted to find an opportunity to continue it where I wouldn’t be compared to people who are much more experienced or pressured to compete!
Best or most memorable moments from your time in the club?
One of my most memorable moments from my time in the club has got to be when we competed in Dublin at the Irish Students Trampoline Open. It was a brilliant opportunity to showcase Loughborough overseas, as well as pick up a few medals along the way!
Describe your club in three words…
Welcoming, fun, crazy!
Aside from the sport, what kind of social activities does your club get up to?
Aside from training, we’re always planning new things to be doing as a club! There are often nights out after training, club meals and there was even a trip to Jump Giants at the beginning of last year!
What would you say to someone thinking of picking up the sport?
Even if you’ve never stepped foot on a trampoline before, it’s definitely worth giving it a go! The club is so sociable that it’s a brilliant way to make new friends, no matter what your background is!
Anything else we should know?
We have our taster sessions coming up soon, so if you’re curious about trampolining and would like to give it a go do come down and see us!
The Athletic Union has over fifty clubs, so you’re bound to find something to your taste.
