FactSet Event – Assessment Centre

On the 4th March 2014, FactSet are coming to Loughborough University to run an assessment task. This will include a group task involving various activities which would emulate, to a small extend, the work which FactSet consultants undertake, along with a brief talk about what FactSet do and how what sort of jobs they offer to graduates.

This event will be fantastic for anybody still searching for a placement, anybody who is still looking to secure a graduate job or people who are interested in seeing what being a consultant at a rapidly expanding company is like.

Are you ready to fail and learn from the experience?

Loughborough are running a day to celebrate Failure and eradicate the negative stigma that is attached to it. The day will be all about embracing pitfalls, sharing stories and considering how we can use these experiences to empower us to be better, bolder and brighter.

On the 15th of March 2014, 10am – 4:30pm,  Fail Forward will host its first Failure Day event at Loughborough Students’ Union, with support from NACUE and Loughborough Students’ Union. Inspirational speakers will share their personal journeys of failure and discuss how this has paved the way to success. The event will be incredibly interactive with a range of practical workshops and the chance to experiment with some of the newest technology including 3D printers.

Then join the China UK Entrepreneurship Challenge 2014!

The China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition aims to encourage new business ventures between China and the United Kingdom and is intended to simulate the real-world process of entrepreneurs soliciting start-up funds from early-stage investors and venture capital firms. The competition is part of the PMI2 (Prime Minister Initiative II) Connect project, supported by British Council and the Confucius Institute programme funded by Hanban.

The competition is open to university teams – students and post docs – both in the UK and China. Teams will be selected to participate in this competition for:

  • £5,000 cash prizes
  • An investment opportunity of £250,000 for the best business plans

Initial registration, proposal submission and selection deadline is 5pm Monday 14th April 2014
