Graduate Profile of the Month
July’s profile is Jamie Young. Jamie graduated in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) and DIS in Architectural Engineering and Design Management. He now works for Morgan Sindall as a Design and Bid Manager
I now work for Morgan Sindall, who are a major contractor. I am a Design Manager and Bid Manager mainly working on tenders up to £20 million and live projects up to £15 million. My main jobs include managing a team of people to produce a tender for a client, as well as ensuring that the design is efficient, cost effective and complies with regulations.
How did you get there?
My course was always very focused on design management and that was the career path they always suggested that we take. The important part of the course was its uniqueness, which fits in with the role. The role very much matches the course.
