Exploring Careers in Finance?

Please find attached details of a careers event, focussed on :-

  • Longer term careers in the wider Finance sector
    i.e. if you train to be an accountant – you can develop your career longer-term into general management, consultancy, operations, supply chain, commercial, project management, charity management, enterprise etc .
    Also features careers in risk and insurance.
  • Vacancies remaining for 2013
  • Opportunities for accountancy professional study for international students in home country

Open to all disciplines/departments and students from years 1 – 4/5.

The event starts at 1.30pm and contains a choice of 2 workshops running finance assessment centre type activities:-

Discover Risk 8th May 2013 3pm – 4.30pm

You are required to attend ‘Exploring Careers in Finance Event’ first.

The Chartered Insurance Institute’s Discover Risk session is supported by professionals from the sector. It is an interactive team event, similar to an assessment centre workshop, which uses global risk scenarios to build knowledge of the risk profession and the employability skills required to be successful.

Accountancy in Business 8th May 2013 3pm – 4.30pm

You are required to attend ‘Exploring Careers in Finance Event’ first.

ICAEW’s interactive session is great practice for assessment centres and is based on a final ACA case study – so if you can participate in this you can do just about anything. Students will be working in teams testing their ethical, financial and business knowledge. It’s also about participation, team work communication and enjoyment – and there will be a small prize for the winning team.
