Opportunity for Undergraduates at the start of the Summer Vacation

Lasham Human Powered Flight Rally.

Lasham Airfield 28th June to 6th July 2014

AeroElvira is again sponsoring a Human Powered Aircraft team to enter the Lasham Rally this Summer. The main entry for this year will be a re-designed conventional layout aircraft to rival the most successful aircraft in previous competitions.

The entry aircraft will have been completed by the end of April by the permanent team, and flight trials will take place in May, in time for the Rally at the end of June.

We are looking for undergraduates seeking Summer Vacation experience at the end of their first or second year at university, or even immediately after graduating, wanting to join the team for a period of five to six weeks, to include the rally period which ends on the 6th July.

Applicants do not necessarily have to be engineers since the work will be a combination of practical work on the aircraft, making modifications and doing repairs etc, and generally assisting in aircraft handling during the flight trials.

Suitably fit and qualified undergraduates may have an opportunity to fly the aircraft, but it must be stressed that this is a team effort, and there are many tasks other than flying the aircraft.

Help with accommodation and other expenses may be considered where
appropriate.
