Preparing for a global career: a cultural perspective workshops

Thinking of an international career? Are you planning to look for a graduate job with overseas opportunities?

This 3 week interactive course aims to help you to develop an awareness of different cultures to support you in the recruitment process and in your future career. Participating in the course will provide you with an insight into different cultures, with a view to conducting business in a culture that is different from your own.

You will be expected to participate fully in all three workshops, wherever possible, to gain the most out of the course. The course is being run by the Careers and Employability Centre and the English Language Support Service.

Graduate Jobs in Sport are running on Thursday 20th of March called Graduate Jobs in Sport live at Bucks New University, High Wycombe.

The event will bring together 30 top employers in the sport industry to help the expected audience of 600 students and graduates find their ideal job within the industry. Graduate Jobs in Sport Live is the only event of its kind in that it brings together the largest number of sport employers ever assembled in the UK including:

–       National Governing bodies
–       Sports recruitment agencies
–       Training and coaching companies

The GlaxoSmithKline Residential Chemistry Training Experience (2014)

This is a fully-funded, week-long training course designed to give you practical experience of the work of a graduate chemist in the pharmaceutical industry.  Based in the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) research laboratories we will provide you with personalised laboratory tuition together with coaching in interview technique, presentation skills and working in teams.

This programme now in its eleventh year will be held at the GlaxoSmithKline Medicines Research Centre, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, on 14th – 19th September 2014.

The Training Experience is one approach that GSK uses to encourage high calibre chemists from a variety of backgrounds to apply for positions in the pharmaceutical industry; therefore:

You should be an analytical/computational/synthetic chemistry undergraduate about to enter your final year of study.

Applications from mature students who have elected to study chemistry at a later stage in their career and, applications from chemistry graduates who have taken a career break or moved into another area of work/business and wish to return to a career in chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry, are also welcomed.
