New JISC e-learning call

February 24, 2010JISC, Pedagogy Standard

The JISC have just released details of the latest (5th) round of the Learning and Teaching Innovation programme and are inviting bids for up to £50,000 – deadline 19th April. More details can be found at http://www.jisc.ac.uk/fundingopportunities/funding_calls/2010/02/ltig5.aspx .

Loughborough has a project currently in development as part of the 3rd round of this programme – Project ExPOUND, which builds on work done by Lara Alcock (MEC) in the area of ‘electronic proofs’ in maths. More details about ExPOUND screenshotExPOUND can be found on the project website. A screenshot of an early e-proof can be seen to the left.

If have an idea which you consider meets the criteria (and these need to be read VERY carefully), please get in touch as soon as possible. Note that only one bid is allowed per institution – that is, where the institution is leading.

If there are multiple contenders for submission under this call, outline proposals will be evaluated by members of the E-learning Advisory Group according to a set of criteria including: likelihood of success; benefits beyond the individual department; etc.

If you are invited to participate in a project where another institution is leading, it would also be helpful to know this.
