Tablets in Learning and Teaching: MELSIG event 6th Sept
Smart Devices for Learning #2: using smartphones, tablets and apps to enhance learning
Host: University of Huddersfield, for MELSIG (Media-Enhanced Learning Special Interest Group)
Date: Friday 6th September 2013
Description: Building on the interest and success of the first MELSIG smart device special focus event in February, academics, educational developers and learning technologists will have the opportunity to hear about and think about how smart technologies like Apple, Android and Windows smartphones and tablets are being used by students and staff to enhance learning. The aim of the day is to share and develop good practice in an important emerging field. The sessions being planned for the day will have a practical focus with opportunities for people to share their favourite apps and think about how this can enhance teaching and learning.
The full programme for the day is being developed here: http://melsig.shu.ac.uk/?page_id=350
MELSIG is run by and targeted at post-compulsory academics, learning technologists and educational developers. It hosts inspiring and leading edge events on how digital media and technology is enhancing the academic and student experience.

Cost: The event is free though a charge of £20 will be made to people who register and do not turn up on the day as demand usually exceeds places at MELSIG events.
